Girls for Excellent Performance (GEP) recently held a productive and insightful discussion with five dedicated farmers in Nimba County as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting sustainable agriculture and community development.

The meeting provided an opportunity for GEP to engage directly with local farmers and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face in their daily farming activities. During the discussion, the farmers openly shared their experiences, highlighting key issues such as limited access to modern farming tools, difficulties in reaching reliable markets for their produce, and the growing impact of climate-related challenges on agricultural productivity.

Despite these obstacles, the farmers also shared stories of resilience, determination, and progress in their efforts to sustain their livelihoods and contribute to food production within their communities. Their insights offered valuable perspectives that will help inform GEP’s future programs and interventions aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector and supporting rural communities.

Girls for Excellent Performance believes that listening to the voices of local farmers is essential in designing practical and sustainable solutions that address real needs. By working closely with community members, the organization seeks to promote innovative and climate-resilient agricultural practices that can improve productivity, increase incomes, and enhance food security.

GEP remains committed to empowering farmers—especially women and young people—by supporting initiatives that promote sustainable farming, access to resources, and knowledge sharing within communities. Through collaboration and continuous engagement, the organization aims to contribute to stronger and more resilient agricultural systems across Liberia.

GEP extends its sincere appreciation to The Fund for Global Human Rights and YOCEL for their moral and financial support in advancing initiatives that empower communities and promote sustainable development.

Together, through partnership and shared commitment, we can continue to strengthen livelihoods, support local farmers, and build a brighter and more sustainable future for all.
