Girls for Excellent Performance (GEP) recently participated in a Multi-Actor Platform (MAP) Liberia forum on Land Governance and Responsible Agricultural Investment. The event brought together key land sector stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, development partners, and community representatives to discuss policies, challenges, and strategies aimed at promoting responsible land use and sustainable agricultural investment in Liberia.
The forum served as an important platform for dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders working to strengthen land governance systems and ensure that agricultural investments contribute positively to community development. Discussions focused on promoting transparency, protecting community land rights, and encouraging responsible agricultural practices that support both economic growth and environmental sustainability.
As a Steering Committee Member of the platform, Girls for Excellent Performance actively participated in the discussions and contributed perspectives that emphasize the importance of inclusivity in national development conversations. GEP’s involvement reflects its strong commitment to ensuring that the voices of women, girls, and young people are represented in decision-making processes related to land governance and agricultural investment. The organization recognizes that responsible land governance plays a critical role in empowering communities, protecting livelihoods, and creating opportunities for sustainable development. Inclusive agricultural investment not only supports food security but also strengthens local economies and promotes long-term community resilience.
Through its participation in the Multi-Actor Platform, GEP continues to advocate for policies and practices that promote fairness, accountability, and equal opportunities for all citizens. The organization remains dedicated to working with partners, policymakers, and communities to build a more equitable and sustainable Liberia where women and youth are actively involved in shaping the future of development.
