The MAP Liberia Land Platform recently held a general meeting of its Thematic Groups at the Ministry of Agriculture in Monrovia. The meeting brought together key stakeholders, partners, and organizations working in areas related to land governance, sustainable development, and community empowerment.

The purpose of the joint meeting was to review and discuss the future direction of the platform, explore sustainable strategies to strengthen its long-term impact, and establish a more inclusive and collaborative core group that will guide the platform’s activities moving forward. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions focused on strengthening partnerships, improving coordination among organizations, and identifying practical approaches to address challenges related to land governance and sustainable development in Liberia.

Girls for Excellent Performance (GEP) was proudly represented at the meeting by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who joined other leaders and professionals in contributing ideas and perspectives to the discussions. The participation of GEP reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to advocating for equitable land governance and ensuring that the interests of girls and young women are considered in policies and development initiatives related to land and natural resources.

The session was both engaging and interactive, providing an excellent platform for participants to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and collaborate with other experts and organizations working toward similar goals. Conversations with such a diverse group of professionals and stakeholders helped strengthen the collective vision of building more inclusive, sustainable, and community-centered land governance systems in Liberia.

Girls for Excellent Performance values opportunities like this to engage with national platforms and partners that are working toward sustainable development and social justice. By participating in initiatives such as the MAP Liberia Land Platform, GEP continues to amplify the voices of girls and young women while contributing to important national discussions that shape policies and programs affecting communities across the country.
